What to expect at meetings
Meetings fall into three categories: speaker, experiment, or showcase. Speaker meetings involve a guest speaker from the brewing industry, or other experts relevant to brewing. Experiment meetings include tasting a panel of beers meant to test one particular aspect of brewing. Past experiments have included overpitch/underpitch, hop addition time comparison, yeast reusing, oxygenation, pellet vs whole leaf hops, and more. Showcase meetings involve 8-10 members brewing a set of beers with a common theme. Past showcases have included beers brewed with cereal, historical recipes, a “chopped” style showcase with basket ingredients, and our annual collaboration showcase. You can see which meetings are which on our calendar! Due to the current pandemic, we are not currently doing showcases.
We will organize experiment beer distribution and local beer swaps via our Slack channel.
All members participating in experiments and swaps agree that they hold harmless the Brewminaries and their designated officers of any responsibility and/or liability of illness or incapacitation from participation.

SWAG
Since we are currently rotating meeting locations to try and have an outdoor option, we will have periodic swag distribution.

Brewmie points
Every meeting, we ask people to sign in on our electronic attendance sheet. This is so your attendance can count towards your Brewmie Points! You can also earn points by bringing homebrew, participating in showcases and collaborations, and brewing for our events! Whoever has the most points at the end of the year wins the coveted title “Brewmie of the Year.”
SLACK
On a day-to-day basis we communicate mainly via Slack. It’s a great tool to have when it’s late and you’re having some sort of kegging crisis and need some people to ask advice, or you want to grab a beer and need someone to join you.
You’ll get an invitation within a day or two of joining the club- introduce yourself in General, make your profile picture a pic of you so we can recognize you out in the wild, and peruse the other channels so you can subscribe to whatever interests you!
Any questions?
If you ever have questions, concerns, or suggestions, please feel free to email the officers at Brewminaries@gmail.com, or reach out to one of us on Slack!
